Daniel returned to the dining room holding the laptop.
Victoria was still standing near the Christmas tree.
She looked at the screen.
Her face immediately changed.
“Where did you get that?”
Daniel stared at her.
“My computer.”
Victoria stepped forward.
“Daniel, listen.”
He played the recording.
Her own voice filled the room.
“He won’t read the details.”
Victoria went pale.
Daniel stopped the video.
“What documents?”
She did not answer.
Daniel repeated the question.
“What were you planning to make me sign?”
Victoria finally admitted that she had created paperwork transferring control of several company assets into a new holding company.
She claimed it was only temporary.
Daniel shook his head.
“You weren’t protecting this family.”
He looked toward the children.
“You were planning around us.”
Victoria started crying.
But Daniel had heard enough.
