Victoria suddenly moved toward the folder.
Daniel pulled it away.
Give that back.
No.
She tried to grab it again.
Daniel stepped away while holding Lily securely.
Victoria backed into the tall display cabinet.
The cabinet shifted.
Objects began falling from the shelves.
Daniel immediately moved Lily away from the area.
Victoria stumbled backward.
The cabinet collapsed across the floor with a loud crash.
Glass and decorative items scattered across the marble.
Daniel shielded Lily and carried her toward the doorway.
Victoria sat on the floor in shock.
Daniel looked back at her.
Stay there.
He called security.
Then his attorney.
Then the police.
The suitcase remained open in the center of the room.
Beside it lay the boarding passes.
Victoria had spent days preparing to leave quietly.
Now every piece of the plan was sitting in plain sight.
