Daniel closed the contract.
Victoria immediately reached toward it.
Daniel pulled it away.
The deal is over.
Her face went pale.
Daniel.
You cannot walk away from this.
He looked at Claire.
Apparently I can.
Then he called his attorney.
Cancel tonight’s signing.
Freeze every agreement connected to Hale Strategic Partners.
Victoria stood.
You are trusting a waitress over me?
Daniel looked toward Claire.
No.
I am trusting the documents you hoped I would not read carefully.
Victoria had no answer.
Daniel then turned toward Claire.
How much of your father’s evidence still exists?
Claire looked surprised.
Most of it.
Daniel nodded.
Then tomorrow we go through everything.
Claire stared at him.
Why?
Because if your father tried to protect my company, I want to know why.
Victoria slowly realized this was no longer about one failed contract.
The truth behind Robert Hale was about to be reopened.
