Several rooms away, Officer Marcus Reed sat in front of a wall of security monitors.
One screen showed Harper standing over Ethan.
Marcus leaned forward.
He replayed the footage from several minutes earlier.
The video showed another student causing the original disruption.
Ethan had only tried to explain what happened.
Marcus looked back at the live feed.
Harper was still confronting him.
Then Marcus noticed Sophie.
She was recording from her desk.
Marcus stood immediately.
“This has gone far enough.”
He picked up his radio.
“Classroom 204. I’m heading there now.”
Back inside the classroom, Harper stepped even closer to Ethan.
Then footsteps approached from the hallway.
Sophie looked toward the door.
She knew someone had finally seen the truth.
