Harper moved even closer to Ethan.
He pressed himself against the wall.
“Please just let me go back to my seat.”
Harper’s voice became sharper.
“You’ll go back when I say you can.”
Sophie quietly activated the camera on her phone.
She kept it low beneath the desk.
Harper continued scolding Ethan.
Then Ethan said something that changed the room.
“You blamed me before you even asked what happened.”
Harper froze.
Sophie looked up.
Ethan continued.
“Ask anyone here.”
Nobody spoke.
The students were too afraid.
Harper smiled coldly.
“See? Nobody agrees with you.”
Sophie glanced toward the security camera above the classroom.
Then she whispered to herself.
“You won’t need us to.”
