CHAPTER 3. THE MAN WHO KNEW ABOUT DANIELS WILL

Robert handed Noah to a trusted family friend.

Then he followed the man across the room.

Stop.

The man turned reluctantly.

Robert recognized him.

Marcus Hale.

A former attorney who had worked for Daniel before his death.

What are you doing here?

Marcus looked toward Victoria.

She invited me.

Robert immediately understood something was wrong.

Why?

Marcus remained silent.

Victoria stepped between them.

Robert, this is a family matter.

Robert looked at her.

Then why is Daniels former attorney here?

Marcus finally spoke.

Because Daniel left something behind.

The room became quiet.

Robert stared at him.

A will?

Marcus nodded.

Daniel had created a separate trust for Noah.

The wooden airplane contained a small hidden compartment.

Inside was a key.

Robert looked toward Noah.

The boy was still holding the toy.

Victoria had known about the compartment.

That was why she wanted the airplane.

Robert slowly looked back at her.

You werent trying to take a toy from him.

You were trying to get the key.
