The afternoon at the Carter mansion changed in seconds.
A baby stroller stood beside the swimming pool.
Inside was Daniel Carter’s infant daughter, Lily.
Nearby, Victoria watched the child while the nanny, Emma, stepped briefly toward the house.
Then the stroller suddenly began moving.
Its wheels rolled toward the pool.

Emma ran without hesitation and jumped into the pool.
She pushed through the water toward the sinking stroller.
Victoria stood frozen beside the pool.
Emma reached Lily, pulled the baby free, and carried her toward the surface.

Then Daniel rushed out of the mansion.
He stopped when he saw Emma standing soaked beside the pool with his crying daughter in her arms.
