Sophie waited until Victoria left.
Then she returned to the study.
She pulled out the small phone Daniel had given her for emergencies.
Sophie photographed every page she could.
Then she heard voices outside.
She hid the phone behind her back.
Victoria entered.
What are you doing in here?
Sophie froze.
Nothing.
Victoria looked toward the desk.
Then toward Sophies hand.
Give me the phone.
Sophie shook her head.
Victoria stepped closer.
Sophie.
Now.
The little girl ran.
She reached the hallway and locked herself inside her bedroom.
Then she sent the photos to the only person she trusted.
Her grandmother Eleanor.
Minutes later Sophies phone rang.
Eleanor sounded frightened.
Sophie.
Listen to me carefully.
Do not delete those pictures.
Why?
Because your father may have just signed away something that belongs to you.
Sophie stared at the phone.
What?
Eleanor answered.
And I dont think he knows it yet.
