Daniel took the phone.
Victoria immediately moved toward him.

That reaction told him something was wrong.
He pressed play.
The video had been recorded from the hallway.
It showed Victoria standing near Ethan.
The baby was already crying.
Victoria had attached the strap to his clothing and was using it to keep him from moving farther across the marble floor.
Daniel’s face tightened.
The recording continued.
Maria appeared in the frame and rushed toward the baby.
She lifted Ethan.
Then Victoria confronted her.
Daniel stopped the video.
He slowly looked at Victoria.

Victoria shook her head.
You dont understand.
Daniel looked at the screen again.
Then at his son.
He had never seen Ethan this frightened around Maria.
But he had seen the baby repeatedly become upset around Victoria.
Daniel had always assumed it was normal.
Now he was not so sure.
Maria pointed toward the phone.
